Unless you are actively avoiding the news yesterday afternoon, you know there was a horrible shooting at Fort Hood, Texas. In a medical center where soldiers come before and after deployment, 13 people (12 soldiers and one civilian) were killed and 28 others were wounded. While some suggested that there were two gunmen, reports say now that there's been a great Nidal Hasan Malik, an army psychiatrist (yes, it's insanely twisted), who recently discovered that he was sent to Afghanistan. Some witnesses said he shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is great) during the filming, most seem to think that his motivation was the opposition to the war.
This morning, General Bob Cone has released the name of the police officer who collected Hasan. Her name is Kimberly Munley and, judging by his photo, it must be less than 30. Munley and his partner arrived on the scene within three minutes, and ran into the building where Munley Hasan met head as he came around a corner. The two exchanged gunfire Munley and shot him four times before falling. E 'was also hit, but is now in stable condition. "It 'was an incredible performance by aggressive police officer," said Cone.
