Roman Polanski 'depressed' in Swiss prison, his lawyer says; Director charged in 1977 rape of girl

The prison is no holiday in Rome, after all.
Oscar winner Roman Polanski, "depressed" and a disturbance of the mind "as he begins his third week in a detention room in a Swiss jail, his lawyer said Sunday.
"I felt tired and depressed," said Herve Temime reporters after visiting filmmakers from Zurich.
"Roman Polanski ... This was very sad when I visited," Temime said.
The author lost bummed out their first chance at freedom on Tuesday, when a Swiss court curtly dismissed his appeal for the immediate release - and called another court to refuse bail.
Polanski, 76, was arrested Sept. 26 after 31 years in the career of California's legal charges of rape. In 1977, Polanski asked guilty of having sex with a 13 years old and spent 42 days in jail to undergo psychiatric tests before the flight from the United States
Swiss authorities believe that the directors of such classics as "directed" Rosemary's Baby "and" Chinatown ", the city could again know whether bail.
Polanski wants to wait until his extradition hearing, while under house arrest at his ski chalet in Gstaad.
